Our well-established client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help shape and deliver a modern enterprise data platform. This position involves working with contemporary cloud-based data technologies to support business intelligence, analytics, and large-scale data integration across the organisation.

This s a daily rate contract role with a minimum 12 month duration and a competitive daily rate. It will mostly be remote working but you must be willing to go on site in Dublin City Centre when required (with advance notice)

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to design cloud-based data solutions capable of processing large datasets and applying complex business logic.
  • Build and refine data models, pipelines, and transformations, presenting insights through BI tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality SQL code for data processing, diagnostics, and issue resolution.
  • Automate and orchestrate data workflows to ingest, cleanse, transform, and deliver data to warehouses, reporting systems, and analytics environments.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain the data platform and its related components.
  • Contribute to the development of emerging AI-driven use cases.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior data engineering team members.

Experience required:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
  • At least 2 years working with modern cloud-based data technologies (e.g., tools within the Azure Data ecosystem such as Fabric, Synapse, or Data Factory).
  • Relevant cloud data certifications are desirable but not essential
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to write clear, maintainable code.
  • Excellent communication skills.
